Shougi | Pony Canyon | 1989 | I'm not terribly well familiar with the Shougi gameplay and only know the basic rules, which are not enough to stand a chance against the computer opponent even on the easiest level as I have to admit. But I can say that this game didn't make me want to dig deeper into Shougi. The time the CPU thinks before it makes its move can be rather long and the symbols are hard to decipher on the little screen, resulting in a bad overview. On the other hand the game has three playmodes and to my big surprise featured little speech samples. There is also an excellent undo function which you can use to "jump back" to any turn in the game. In the end it is a game for Shougi fans who are in need of a mobile version of their beloved game. | labelimageminimize |
